The Local Church the Best Place, Kent Lee

I contacted believers who met with the local church in 1968 when I was a high schooler at the age of 18 and I am now 50 years old. During these years of meeting with the local church I have realized a few things.

Meetings in the local church are quite frequent and are also a sanctifying influence to people of all ages (Hebrews 10:24-25). For example, in my high school years, many of my classmates used drugs. But meeting with the local church and hearing healthy teaching (1 Timothy 1:13) saved me from getting into those damaging things. Also, I often was sad without reason, and even felt that life was meaningless. But when I began to meet with the local church, the love and care of all the believers saved me from the tragedy of ending my own life.

In the meetings of the local church, I learned precious truths and teachings from the Bible with the help of Watchman Nee’s and Witness Lee’s writings. Their teaching continues that of earlier Bible teachers, including the brethren from England.

Also in the local church, I easily found my life partner. I became acquainted with my wife through the church meetings, eventually married her, and have had a wonderful married life. Most of my peers in the church also found their match and got married. They have all been happy and have had sweet lives, which is a contrast to many broken marriages of friends I had outside of the church.

Most of my sons and daughters have already graduated from college but some are still studying in college. I have always encouraged them to meet with the local church and they obeyed what I said. Raising our children to meet with the local church has been a protection to them from the world and has saved them and us a lot of trouble.
